ROBOthug & Her Furry Space Boots.

I was browsing random sites online and came across the title "robothug" and fell in love. I'm thinking about changing this blog name to that but we shall see! In other news, my brother's 4th birthday just passed so look out for that entry. I haven't been through the photos though as of yet but I'm sure when I do I'll only like one or two shots. I had forgotten to charge the batteries for my flash at the time and therefore was limited with the flash on my slr and gave up with waiting on it to load. Ah well. Back to today's topic. I was really inspired by a lot of things today and at 8am this morning decided to dredge up my grandma's sewing machine from the garage and work on a little project. It was a lot more work than I had anticipated, fingers are sore and many needles were broken but it was well-worth it for the end result!

Here we have this old Juicy Couture hoodie that I've worn a bit throughout the years. Originally my mom's and passed on to me and it really has been just lying around collecting dust (and fur apparently) so I figured I'd put it to good use. Make something out of it that I'd actually use often instead of just another item tossed aside, one step away from donation/selling on ebay!

Messy room! Couldn't be bothered to tidy up for a few shots. Fuckit.

As you can see it's a bit raggedy, the hoodie, itself! >.< Sorry.

Here we have the fur (yes, it's real rabbit fur.. sorry!) part of the hoodie which I pulled the lining from and was just left with the fur/skin part of it. Some parts were stitched so poorly, I'm unimpressed JC!

And here we have one unfinished shoe and one completed side.

With flash. Looks great either way.

I actually still have to work on the left side so I'll be posting photos of both shoes tomorrow, when I have better lighting etc. :D Hope you like what I've done so far though. My sincere apologies that I used real fur, mind you this is probably the only item I own that fits in this category >.< But otherwise I really, really love the way it's turned out. Just have to add a few minor corrections here and there. :)

Spring Transitioning in Virginia!

So it's quite a different thing to spend a year in New York and a year in Virginia! The weather has been so crazy in both places this year and on top of everything it's just a major change from NY. I'm saddened to be here but with negativity comes positivity. The winters aren't as harsh, spring comes earlier but it can be a bit too sweltering during the summer! Either way I'm enjoying this March's warmth and I'm hoping the warmer days will beat out the cold in upcoming April. So to commemorate the warmer weather, I bought these three items which I've fallen in love with but don't I always. Put these outfits together quickly just to show 'em off.

First up we have this spikey black jacket by Fever. It's a large and I love it that way. I like my clothes loose-fitting on me. Plus I always layer like crazy so the big sizes help in that!

Also pictured is my thrifted short-sleeved knitted sweater. There's no tag so I couldn't even tell you the name if I wanted to. BlankNYC jeans. N.Y.L.A. wedges!

You can see a better detail on the shoulders here. ♥

Second is a see-through flowered top by "Just Ginger". It looks like the brand name that's for sure. I think I'll be heavily into floral patterns this spring. It brightens up any outfit and puts me in a girly mood.

Both these high-waisted pants and brown booties were thrifted! Booties are "9West", not certain if they're related to "Nine West" shoes?

The detail on the sleeve end, collar and bottom is my favourite. I wish I would have gotten shots of it now.

This is the closest to detail I have. Like?

My third purchase was this top by "August Silk". It's so soft and delicate in person and the details of the front are just perfect. I combined it with an older blue dress I wore the previous summer but really wasn't thinking of wearing it this upcoming. I got bored with it pretty fast and thought it would be even more smashing as a skirt instead, it being such a vibrant denim blue color and I was right. It's even better as a high-waisted skirt.

I matched it with these cream lace tights. They're a bit worn, which you'll see soon >.>

Tights >.< Haha. But anyways, I wanted a clash so I paired this outfit with my Irregular Choice booties! Perfect. I like the harsh contrast in the girly-ness of the outfit and my cloggy black wooden wedges. ♥

And the awesomeness that are my sketchy stockings are hidden from sight :)

Well I hope you liked my outfit combination. It was quick and not that well-thought out but whatever! I have big plans for this spring/summer. Sticking to hard contrasts between the soft/girly fabrics and tops with dark accessories. Seems perfect to me! ♥

Until next time. Thanks for reading.

OCC Lip Tars ♥

Another package I ordered came in the mail. It's from OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) & it's probably the best purchase I've ever made. They have these lip tars that come in every color, from neutral to brights to darks and I'd honestly like to buy them all. I only bought two initially because I wasn't sure of the quality and if I would like it but I'm already hooked. I'll preach it to the world now, these are UH-MAZING. When I first put it on I realized how true to the reviews I read online they really were. They're very consistent and you don't need a lot of the product to get full lip coverage. So even though these little tubes may look tiny, they're bound to last a long while. Although I'll probably be using them constantly! Another great thing about it is that there's a minty taste to it? Not really a taste but when I put on the "Uber" shade, as soon as I breathed in through my mouth I could taste/feel a sort of minty flavor. It's oh so lovely. Be sure to check out the site for other products and lip tar shades ^_^

Packaging is so cute!  ♥

I'm wearing "Uber" in this photo.

And here's the "Katricia" lip tar ♥

Tried to get a decent photo of both colors on my skin. Katricia and Uber (left to right)
